On Wednesday evening, USA Basketball announced the 12-player team who will compete in Belarus for the FIBA U17 World Cup. That 12-player roster included six players who have competed in ELITE is EARNED/Check Me Out events over the years. While an event doesn’t make a player, our staff is proud to have been a small part of the journey these players and so many others are on.
Cameron Brink – OR (EIE & CMO)
Paige Bueckers – MN (CMO)
Jordan Horston – OH (EIE)
Haley Jones – CA (EIE)
Charisma Osborne – CA (EIE)
Hailey Van Lith – WA (CMO)
Joining these familiar faces is a super talented group that includes Fran Belibi (Colorado), Aliyah Boston (US Virgin Islands), Samantha Brunelle (Virginia), Zia Cooke (Ohio), Azzi Fudd (Virginia) and Celeste Taylor (NY).
Of the group, three players have already committed to colleges. Belibi has verbally committed to EIE Report family member Stanford, while Brunelle has committed to Notre Dame and Taylor to Texas.
Hannah Gusters (Texas) who competed in the EIE Shootout last July as well as back-to-back Check Me Out Texas Showcases was selected as a finalist for the team on Monday and was one of 18 players who stayed to practice through Wednesday.
